Melissa Mencotti is an enthusiastic and engaging advancement professional who manages an active donor portfolio and travel schedule while leading a comprehensive planned giving program producing record fundraising results. She has almost three decades in the non-profit sector and has experience in all aspects of fundraising and constituent relations. Melissa has served at Allegheny College in Northwestern Pennsylvania for 17 years and has directed its gift planning program since 2008. She is currently a member of the cabinet for the College's $200 million endowment campaign, initiated in 2011. The College has raised nearly $60 million in new bequest commitments and life income gifts for the campaign and Melissa has, herself, raised more than $25 million in gifts during the same period.
Melissa holds an MA in Philanthropic Studies from the Lilly School of Philanthropy at Indiana University and a BA from Edinboro University. She is currently serving as a volunteer fundraising consultant for a wildlife rehabilitation center and an historic cemetery in her community. Melissa decompresses by cooking, spending time in the woods with her husband and dog, and watching on Netflix all of the good television programs she missed over the past 20 years.
